TORONTO SOCCER CENTRAL: Genesis 1 Thunder 0, with a lonely goal by Alora Walcott, 2010 Athlete of the Year

Shay, Holly, Rocio, Alora Walcott, Isabel, Sarah, tARA, Julieta, and their teammates did have a very competitive game against Michele Liu and Michele The Italian Striker, Julie, Ilana, Naomi, Brenda, Kristy, and teammates.

While Portuguese fan were still celebrating on St. Clair their 1-0 over Czech Republic on the first quarterfinal of the UEFA Euro Cup 2012, with a goal by Cristiano Ronaldo, at 79', it has started to rain again at Earlscourt Park soccer field, but Thunder - the white team coached by Portuguese Joe - had planned a strong defense and midfield to stop the Reds, which has won their three initial matches for more than 4 goals and only tie 3-3 against Majestic.

And they almost got it, great goalkeeper Ally Di Laurentiis was defeated only by a goal scored by Alora Walcott, High School Athlete of the year in 2010, one of the best Toronto women's scorers. Carol "Shay" Knibbe, # 16, one of the faster forward in Canada could not score, but create many opportunities with her explosive runs and shoots to goal.

In the other side, Michelle The Italian had a couple of opportunities to score, but was hold by the shirt or shaked by shoulder to shoulder phsyical contact. The last play of the game, funny one, witnessed her doing the same to # 77 Red, after many contacts by both teams. Both teams left everything on the field and the Thunder defense led by # 6, stood solid even with the final 1-0 that could be 1-1 easily.

Even tough, Ballers have been beaten frequently, this team has great and young players that well organized and with a knowledgeable coach can get to the middle of the stand and compete for a place in the 2012 summer playoffs. Last week, they kept Ravens in a tight game.

Majestic plays very well with Farah, as one of the best technical players, in conjuction with Cindy and Krystin Bacon, a powerful striker and scorer. Today, only # 9 Cindy was available but she delivered a great game scoring three goals, the other by # 27 (a technique right attacking midfielder) and own goal by a Ballers's defender.

Cindy got great technique and vision of the soccer game, she is one of top players at Toronto Central Women's Soccer League, for ar least a couple of year in a row.

Games Thursday June 21, 2012 - Round 5:

Bulldogs vs Ravens at 6:30 p.m. (CANCELLED DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER ALERT, thunderstorm, heavy rain and winds that seems like a funnel )

In the first game of the nigh, players to watch were the following: Naomi is pretty quick and a great scorer in the Bulldogs team, as well as # 25 Tara, who is always a dangerous player forward, with her speed. Ravens have a pretty regular line-up, highlinth more as team as individualities.
