Capital City FC Celebrates CSL Playoff Qualification With Ottawa Newcomers

OTTAWA, ON – Capital City FC will celebrate its qualification to the Canadian Soccer League (CSL) playoffs with newcomers to Ottawa by hosting a community day on Saturday October 1, 2011.
In their inaugural season in the Canadian Soccer League, Ottawa’s only professional soccer club will play its last game of the regular season against defending champions Brantford Galaxy – the same team who they (CCFC) clinched the playoffs against on September 11.
For Saturday, the club is partnering with the Ontario Soccer Association’s (OSA) “Soccer and Settlement’s project,” which aims to provide an opportunity for new and mainstream Canadians to establish connections through sport.
The community event for kids aged 9-12 years old will run from 2pm to 6pm. It will feature a drills session, followed by pick-up games. Parents and adolescents interested in coaching are invited to a free coaching clinic conducted by Capital City FC’s head coach Shaun Harris.
They will be also able to join Capital City FC’s “Get in the Game” program provides exciting ways for Ottawa’s new residents to interact with the club.
The program includes the opportunity to march on to the field hand in hand with the Capital City FC and the opposing teams players as part of the player introductions, and will stand with the team during the playing of the national anthem. Youth players will also serve as the official ball boys and girls for one half of the match.
Registration is ALL-INCLUSIVE for the day’s activities at: $4 and includes admission to Capital City FC’s 7:00 pm game vs. Brantford Galaxy. Accompanying adults pay $6 for the admission ticket.

  • 6:00pm Dinner
  • 7:00pm Capital FC vs. Brantford Galaxy
  • 7:45pm Half time award ceremony
  • 9:00pm Capital FC Post game signing
