Canada Boys U15 wraps up play at Copa Mexico de Naciones

Canada's U-15 team wrapped up play at the Copa Mexico de Naciones this past weekend in the federal district of Mexico. The Canadian team and host Mexico were both eliminated from group play, with Canada going out a day after a cruel lost late in added time to the Chileans.
Canada opened with a 2:1 win over Paraguay, but then lost a day later by the same scoreline to Chile (each game was 70 minutes in length). Canada had a 1-0 lead through 67 minutes against Chile, but then conceded a pair of late goals including the winner on a penalty five minutes into added time.
With Canada's goalkeeper ejected, a defender stood in place for the penalty.
On the final day of group action, Canada went down a man again, this time after just 17 minutes. Canada lost the group finale 7:0, with six of Mexico's goals scored with the man advantage.
This marked the second time that Canada's has competed in the Copa Mexico de Naciones.
Canada's roster featured 20 players born 1998 or later. The group will be eligible to compete at the U-17 level through to the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2015 (for players born 1998 or later) and at the U-20 level through to the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2017 (for players born 1997 or later).
