ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE 2012: Swansea 2 Wigan 1: Martinez fury after disallowed Kone strike hands Swans win

Roberto Martinez claims Wigan were denied a point at Swansea after Arouna Kone's late effort was ruled out for offside.
Trailing 2-1 with 18 minutes left, the Ivorian striker headed home from a left-wing cross by Jean Beausejour. The goal was ruled out but TV replays showed Kone was level with Swansea skipper Ashley Williams.
Martinez, who was fined £8,000 for criticising refereeing decisions at Old Trafford last month, said: 'I thought he (Kone) was level. It was a close call.

When you see it again Kone was in a good position. That was coming, as we built momentum in the final 30 minutes. 'It was a call which didn't go our way. It was really costly.

I felt it would have been an interesting final 10 minutes because we could have won the game.

'Sometimes you want to be honest with the referee's decision, but I have learned my lesson. I cannot really comment. I need to accept it and give an official answer.
'Sometimes the calls go your way, sometimes they don't. But I thought we deserved a point.'

Pablo Hernandez, Swansea's club-record signing at £5.55million, broke the deadlock in the 65th minute with a low shot past Ali Al-Habsi from 18 yards.

Michu added a second for the Welsh club two minutes later with a close-range header from Jonathan de Guzman's corner for his seventh goal of the season.

Wigan set up a grandstand finish after Emmerson Boyce's exquisite 69th-minute back-flick put Martinez's men back into the contest, but Swansea clung on for a first win in six Premier League games.

Swansea manager Michael Laudrup said: 'It's always important to come into a new club and culture and make a good impression and show what you can do.
'Pablo needs time to adapt but to score a goal, especially the first one, is very important for him. But he did well in addition to his goal.
'The players played with a lot of confidence and patience. 'We scored two goals, but then we conceded and had to suffer for the final 20 minutes.'
