2014 Sport Chek National Championships kick off this Wednesday

The Canada Soccer Sport Chek National Championships bring together the best amateur teams in the country, for a series of week-long tournaments, to showcase their talents on the national stage. This year’s edition takes place from Wednesday 8 October to Monday 13 October in Charlottetown, PE; Mount Pearl, NL; Surrey, BC and Vaughan, ON.
“It’s an opportunity, for all involved, to experience new cultures and establish or strengthen friendships,” says Canada Soccer President Victor Montagliani. “We encourage participants to take advantage of this occasion, learn about their host region, and play to the best of their ability, while embodying the ideals of fair play, integrity and sportsmanship.”
Canada Soccer has been running this annual competition since 1913. It started with the Men’s Challenge Trophy and, over time, has expanded to include the Women’s Jubilee Trophy as well as three separate youth cups for both boys and girls. This year, 84 teams will be competing in four separate locations across the country.
Vaughn, ON: Men’s Challenge & Women’s Jubilee Trophy The Challenge Trophy features 12 teams divided into four groups, while eight teams, broken into two groups, will vie for the Jubilee Trophy. Canada Soccer will be streaming live action from the women’s Jubilee Trophy and men’s Challenge trophy on Sunday 12 Ocotber and Monday 13 October.
