OSA to host May Consultation Sessions for
Prospective OPDL Applicants
As you are aware, the OSA will be launching in 2014 a new youth high performance soccer league, currently called the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL). The OPDL is positioned in the new Talented Pathway as the highest tier of play in youth soccer as top youth soccer talent moves into the advanced development phase at U13, focussing on stages four and five of Long Term Player Development (LTPD).
Central to the OPDL is the premise that the organizations that run youth soccer teams can only enter the OPDL through the meeting of strict, high standards regarding their technical, facilities and organizational capabilities.
The OSA has developed a Request for Proposals (RFP) for applications for entry into the OPDL. The OSA will begin accepting completed RFP applications on June 7th, 2013 with the final date of submission being July 31st, 2013.
Complete detailed information on the OPDL is located on the
OSA website. This website will be updated regularly and is the centralized source for all information relating to the OPDL. Please visit it regularly to obtain up-to-date information. Queries and clarifications can be sent to
opdl@soccer.on.ca. Individual queries will not receive specific responses; however, responses to any queries will be posted publically at the
OPDL FAQ page
PLEASE NOTE: The OSA will be hosting a series of four evening OPDL consultation sessions across the province designed to answer questions organizations may have about the application process of entry. Pre-registration is required through the
OSA website. These sessions are as follows:
Tuesday, May 7th | Kitchener, Ontario |
Wednesday, May 8th | Vaughan, Ontario |
Thursday, May 9th | Ottawa, Ontario |
Thursday, May 14th | Conference Call |
